To Tell the Tales of Griffins: Memoir with Saab Cars

Flipping through an old photo album feels like opening a time capsule—each image captures a piece of history, yet its true meaning depends on the storyteller who lived through those moments. Objects, too, serve as vessels of memory, carrying the weight of personal experiences and emotions. For me, some of the most cherished memories revolve around Saab cars and the journeys I shared with my family. The vehicles that once accompanied us on countless adventures are now fading into history, scrapped or repurposed to keep others running.
To explore and preserve my personal connection to a brand that no longer exists, I created To Tell the Tales of Griffins: Memoir with Saab Cars—a book that reimagines memories through an alternative storytelling method. By portraying vehicles and objects as humanoid characters, I craft a fictional yet emotionally resonant universe where real-life events are woven into an imaginative world. Each character’s design reflects personal experiences, transforming memories into unique visual and narrative forms.
Through this approach, I aim to keep these stories alive, ensuring that even as the physical cars disappear, their legacy endures in a new and creative way. Accompanied by a moose character inspired by one of Saab’s plush toys, this journey becomes not just a tribute to the past but also a way to carry its spirit into the future.
